Shoe box jewelry organiser

Materials Needed

1. Empty shoe box
2. Pencils
3. Craft knife

Step 1: Measuring

Measure the approximate maximum diameter of the bangles /bracelets you are going to hang. This determines the spacing between the pencils. In my case, the average diameter of my bangles /bracelets was around 6.5cm, so I took the distance between slits to be 7cm.

Step 2: Making the slits

The width and height of each slit should be enough to accommodate the pencil comfortably.
I have taken the width of each slit to be 0.7cm and the height of each slit to be 1cm.
Distance between the wall of the box and slits A and B should be half of the average diameter of your bangle you had measured.
So in my case, the distance between the wall of the box and slits A and B was 3.5cm (7cm/2)

Distance between the wall of the box and slits A and B is be 3.5cm.
Distance between A,B and C,D is 7cm
Distance between C,D and E,F is 7cm
Distance between E,F and H,G is 7cm
Distance between the wall of the box and the last slits H and G is be 3.5cm.

Make slits on the box with the mentioned spacing using a craft knife.

Step 3: Placing the pencils

Now, we are almost done.
Place the pencils on the slits you've made and you are good to go!

UPDATE: Like Marmaris crafts mentioned, this could also be used to organize ribbons and tapes!

Note:

  • ·    You can cover the shoe box with paper or fabric of your choice.
  • ·       You can use rods of any sort instead of the pencil.
